The arts teach students to notice what is there, to love what is worthy, and to make what is fitting. They are part of whole-person formation: heart, soul, mind, and body abundantly alive. Through participation in the arts, students are called to move from consumption to creation, from distraction to attention, and from self-expression alone to service, worship, and shared joy.

At CCA, the goal of the arts is not merely creativity, self-expression, or entertainment. The goal is to receive creative works with gratitude, to practice skill with patience, to be nourished by beauty, and to offer excellent work in service to God and neighbor.
We see still another form of such activity in the creation of the artist, who does not so much aim at presenting copies of reality as rather making visible and tangible in speech, sound, color, and stone, the archetypical essences of all things as he was privileged to perceive them.
